Be the Change Piercing & Tattoo was opened in October 2018.

Amber is the proud owner of Be The Change Piercing  and Tattoo. They have worked tirelessly to uphold the highest industry standards with integrity and artistic value while honoring cultural history and influence on the industry.

As a queer person of mixed ethnicity, they had a vision for a safe and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals to feel seen and heard within the body modification community. It is Be the Change's core mission to recognize the deep cultural history behind body modification across the globe and honor those roots while operating with modern protections and safety protocols. It is our greatest hope that we are able to inspire others in the community and the industry over all to do the same.

Amber Merideth was born and raised right here in Buncombe County! They are proud of their Indigenous and Jewish heritage, which is carefully curated into their bedside manner, and your overall experience in the shop. They have 14+ years in the body art industry with 13 of those years under their belt as a professional piercer post apprenticeship. They are trauma informed, recovery aware, and body positive. They specialize in child lobes, ear projects/ curations, and custom designed gold.

When Amber works, you might also receive the pleasure of meeting Danger as he enjoys hanging out and participating in ensuring all people are comfortable and feel welcome at Be the Change.
